Adolescent PHP

When things have gotten heavier and weekly sessions aren’t holding it, this is full days of steady support, so your teen has somewhere to land while you both figure out what’s next.

What Does This Actually Look Like?

What Does the Week Look Like?

5 days a week, about 6 hours a day, a full daytime rhythm with breaks and lunch.

What Fills the Day?

Group, individual sessions, time with family, and medication support if it's helpful.

What About Medication?

If medication might help, our psychiatric team is part of the same care team, so evaluations and check-ins happen alongside therapy, nothing for you to coordinate.

A Day Built Around Your Teen So You Stop Carrying It Alone

Mornings start with check-ins, not lectures. Your teen moves through group, one-on-one time, and breaks alongside the same small cohort each day, with clinicians who actually know their name. You’ll hear from us weekly, sometimes more, so nothing about how they’re doing is a mystery when they walk back through the door at night.

Teens 13–17 Who Need More Than Weekly Therapy Can Hold Right Now

If you or someone you know is in crisis:

Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911. Vitalize is an outpatient program and does not provide 24/7 emergency services.

Frequently Asked Questions

Don’t see what you’re looking for? Call us, we’d rather talk than have you guess.

We help children and teens with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, mood disorders, substance use, and eating disorders.
If weekly sessions aren’t enough or your child struggles at school, home, or with friends, IOP or PHP may be a better fit.
We meet with you and your child to review history, current concerns, and recommend the best level of care.
IOP usually lasts a few weeks, while PHP runs daily for several weeks to a few months depending on progress.
Yes. If medication might help your child, our psychiatric team works alongside their therapist on the same care team. Evaluations, prescriptions, and follow-ups happen in-house, so nothing has to be coordinated across separate providers. Whether to explore medication is always your family’s decision.
Most insurance plans cover therapy, psychiatry, IOP, and PHP, we’ll help you check your benefits.
You’re not on your own after discharge. Our case managers help your family connect with ongoing resources, and your teen is welcome at our monthly Alumni Connect groups, open to clients from all of our programs. We also send outcome questionnaires for six months post-discharge so we can see how they’re doing; if things start trending in the wrong direction, our team reaches out to check in and help you get more support. Our goal is that your teen never feels alone in this.

Corion Duran, LMFT

Corion Duran, LMFT

Clinical Director

I am a client-centered and ACT-focused clinician with a significant history working with children and adolescents. I deeply believe that therapy needs to be driven by the people we are working with, in order to achieve their own unique goals and personal ideals in regards to what they want their lives to be.

Areas of Specialization

  • Trauma
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • LGBTQ+
  • Children and Adolescents

Therapeutic Approach

I was trained as a person centered therapist through my graduate program and quickly gravitated towards acceptance and commitment therapy, which is a third wave behavioral therapy that focuses on acceptance of emotions and thoughts, coping effectively and committing to living our lives by our own values and ideals. I also utilize play therapy with younger clients that allows them to explore and process their emotions and struggles through a developmentally appropriate process. What clients can expect more than anything else is receiving therapy that is tailored to their needs. This would include exploring what gets in the way of them living how they want in a deep, meaningful way, developing skills and strategies that are tailored to their experience, and moving in a significant way towards the behaviors and goals they desire for themselves.

Education and Credentials

  • B.A. Psychology
  • M.S. Counseling
  • Marriage Family and Child Counseling, LMFT
  • Trained in Affirmative Therapy, Trauma-Informed Care, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

About Me

Primarily I gravitated towards becoming a therapist as I grew up with family members who needed mental health care in significant ways and I saw first hand how good, quality care benefitted them. I also attended therapy as a child and teenager and will be forever grateful that I saw competent, ethical therapists. Beyond that I am also a lifelong athlete who has seen the benefits of sports and meaningful experiences on people’s lives. I have been a whitewater river raft guide for the past 15 years and have worked on the Kings River and the American River.

REGIONAL CLINICAL DIRECTOR

As the Regional Clinical Director of the Adult IOP/PHP program, I bring over three years of experience in intensive outpatient care and six years in crisis intervention and emergency response alongside law enforcement. My clinical work is grounded in a psychodynamic approach through a trauma-informed lens, with a focus on helping clients understand how their past informs their present functioning. I became a therapist after starting my work as an emergency response advocate, where I supported individuals and families during some of their most difficult moments. Over time, I realized my true calling was in helping people not just survive those experiences, but heal from them, and that’s what led me to the deeper, ongoing work of therapy.
